Killswitch Engage is an American metalcore band from Westfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1999 after the disbandment of Overcast and Aftershock. Killswitch Engage's current lineup consists of vocalist Howard Jones, bassist Mike D'Antonio, guitarists Joel Stroetzel and Adam Dutkiewicz, and drummer Justin Foley; the band has released five studio albums and one DVD.
Killswitch Engage rose to fame with its 2004 release The End of Heartache, which peaked at number 21 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold in December 2007 for over 500,000 shipments in the United States. The title track, "The End of Heartache", was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2005, and a live DVD titled (Set This) World Ablaze was released in 2005. Killswitch Engage have performed at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Reading and Leeds Festivals, Ozzfest, Download Festival, Rock on the Range, Mayhem Festival, and the Australian Soundwave Festival. MTV has referred to Killswitch Engage as "one of the founders of metalcore".
Killswitch Engage (abreviado Killswitch o KsE) es una banda estadounidense de metalcore melódico fundada en 1998, procedente de Westfield, Massachusetts (Estados Unidos).
Durante el año de 1998, Mike D'Antonio, el bajista fundador, exploraba las escenas metalcore de Massachusetts, en busca de gente para formar una nueva banda. "Reckoning" is the first single by American metalcore band Killswitch Engage from their fifth album Killswitch Engage (2009 album), sporting as track number 4 on the album. On May 28, 2009, their official fanclub, Take This Oath, were granted access to be the first people in the world to listen to this song. The track became available from the Roadrunner Records website to the general public the following day. The song itself has a fast tempo, and is the second shortest song in Killswitch Engage's history that is not an instrumental track, after "To the Sons of Man".
It is considered a promo single, as it was only digitally released with no additional content and there was no video shot for the song.
An edited version of the song is featured in the video game, Madden NFL 10.

It reached #21 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, surpassing the band's last breakthrough single The End of Heartache, which topped #31, and has been nominated for a Grammy. The music video was directed by Lex Halaby, who has also directed videos for Hoobastank and Mudvayne. My Curse,along with the rest of the album, has been generally praised by criticsbut has received substantial criticism for breaking away from the styleestablished in preceding albums, toning down their previously "harder"sound.
As said above, My Curse 's style is a mix of the raw metalcore sound of Killswitch Engage and melancholic intersections/lyrics.

Killswitch Engage is the fifth album by American metalcore band Killswitch Engage, released June 30, 2009 through Roadrunner Records. The album has a rather rare and unusual characteristic: it is the second official release by the group to be self-titled, along with their debut album. A special edition and vinyl record of the album was released on the same day. On the band's official website, if a pre-order for the album was made, the buyer would be entered into a drawing to win a custom Parker P44 guitar with artwork from the album as the paint job.
The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200, selling 58,000 copies in its first week of release, making it the band's highest charted album to date. The special edition also features two live versions of bonus tracks from the previous album's special edition, and one from The End Of Heartache.

Bullet for My Valentine are a Welsh metalcore band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band is composed of Matt Tuck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael Paget (lead guitar), Jason James (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums). They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John and started their music career by covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana.Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two ofthese tracks were reworked later in their career as Bullet for MyValentine. Financial difficulties dictated the name change, which wasfollowed by a change in music direction. In 2002, the band secured afive-album deal with Sony BMG. The band has stated that their music is influenced by classic heavy metal acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Slayer.

"Waking the Demon" is a song by Welsh metalcore band Bullet for My Valentine. The song is released as the third and final single from their second album Scream Aim Fire. The video for the single was written and directed by Max Nichols (son of Academy Award-winning director Mike Nichols).

The lyrical meaning of the song is revenge. Matt Tuck, lead singerand guitarist, said "'Waking the Demon' is about finding someone'sinner demon. Most of us in the band got pushed around in school so thesong is about getting tormented, day in and day out for years, and thenone day - 'snap!' - fight back!" There are two videos of the song, theunedited version is where towards the end of the guitar solo, there isblood on the werewolf's hands and mouth. In the edited version, no suchscene takes place. Some releases of the video edit the screaming vocalsin the verses into singing with only Jason screaming backing vocals inthe verses.

In the music video for this song, the band can be seen performing live on a stage, and doing some back-stage activities. The live footage and backstage footage is mostly recorded at The Limelight in Belfast, Northern Ireland in its Spring & Airbrake section.
The audio track on the video is the single edit of the song, featuring differences from the album version such as 3:05 length (as opposed to 2:52 on the album), an added piano introduction, metalcore screaming vocals being replaced with clean vocals, increased vocal volume, and an audible tambourine during the chorus.

Ember to Inferno is the debut album from American heavy metal band Trivium. It was released on October 14, 2003 on Lifeforce Records.
The album seems to follow a theme of tyranny, oppression, and freedom, with songs covering guerilla warfare and overthrowing evil.
Frontman Matt Heafy was 17 years old when the album was written and recorded.
Corey Beaulieu toured in support of the album - he did not play on the album according to the re-release booklet.
"The Deceived" was re-recorded and released on their next record Ascendancy and "Blinding Tears Will Break the Skies" was recorded as a bonus track on the Ember To Inferno re-release.
It is interesting to note that "Inception, The Bleeding Skies" is a section of "A View of Burning Empires" played in reverse, and is also exactly the same when reversed.
